This workshop will help teachers, administrators and those who work with at-risk youth understand the importance of helping our specific population learn to cope with the stress in their lives. The development of mindfulness can address the roots of toxic stress which lie deep in our nervous system. Mindfulness can transform our own habitual reactions and offer us a means to teach our students stress managment, emotion regulation and interpersonal skills. You will leave the workshop with numerous resources, mindfulness activities you can use with your students and a solic introduction to the innovative approach that is mindfulness.
